…brought his saxaphone to the Portland Oregon jazz scene after evacuating form Hurricane Katrina in 2005. He’s performed, toured, and recorded with top jazz artists, and traveled to Africa with his four piece ensemble New Orleans Straight Ahead as part of the Rhythm Road: American Music Abroad program sponsored by the U.S. State Department. Devin’s second band, The Devin Phillips Band, is a 5/6 piece jazz funk group with strong connections to the New Orleans party sound.
