Devin at the Jazz Fest

The debut CD from saxophonist Devin Phillips with New Orleans Straight Ahead was born in tragedy but ends with rebirth. One year after evacuating from New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina and relocating in Portland, Oregon, Devin has recorded WADE IN THE WATER.

With six originals, four New Orleans' tunes and two standards, the CD reflects not only his recent experiences and affinity for his musical heritage, but also the rich jazz scene he found in Portland.
